2005 - Bands of Hope Fundraising Project
For our major fundraising efforts BHS designed "Bands of Hope", rubber wristbands with the word "Hope" in English and five different languages (representing the most severely devastated countries).

Several local retailers assisted us in selling the bands and during the weekly "Harbour Nights" cultural street festival BHS students and teachers volunteered to operate a stall to sell the bands. Over $25,000 in funds were raised, all of which will go to help communities and schools in Thailand.

At the Round Square Conference in Melbourne, Australia in September 2005 Tina Nash (BHS Guidance Counsellor and Round Square Coordinator) met Paul Crouch (Round Square Coordinator at Regent's School in Pattaya, Thailand) and discovered that Regent's School had partnered with Bonn Koh Phi Phi School on Koh Phi Phi Don island in Thailand to help the school and community recover.
Tina suggested to the team that this would be a perfect project to direct our funds towards. In June 2006, 9 students and 7 adults will travel to Koh Phi Phi Don to perform community service and experience some of the history and culture of Thailand.

Hey, Bobes!
I just wanted to quickly tell you how much I appreciate all of your encouragement and support over the passed year and a half. I know that this Project nor our trip to Thailand to support the people of Koh Phi Phi Don Island would be possible without your support, creativity and energy.
Thank you for always being my Best Friend & Unrelenting Supporter.
I love you,
